Rhizomes slender, long-creeping, hairy, sparsely scaly, scales narrowly triangular-lanceolate, about 4 mm long, sparsely hairy, ciliate.
Fronds distant; stipes 10-15 cm long, scaly at base, the scales linear-lanceolate, dark reddish-brown, 3 mm long; laminae deltoid or ovate, 20-35 cm long, 15-25 cm wide, pinnate with 4-7 pairs of lateral pinnae and a larger terminal pinna; terminal pinna linear-lanceolate, deeply lobed at base; lateral pinnae lanceolate, acuminate, obtuse and unequal at base, the lower short-stalked and the upper sessile; venation goniopteroid, veinlets anastomosing.
Sori round, separate, median on veinlets, exindusiate.
